Photos for the digipak and poster...

We wanted to create a 'photo-shhot' image for our digipak and poster.
So we had three lights from different directions facing a white sheet that was hung up.
The three lights we used were the back light, key light and fill light.
these lights were effective because we was able to see un-wanted shadows, turn the lights on and off where we wanted to and it made it look professional.
The equipment was very easy to use and simple.
We had the female (charlie, who features as one of the main characters in the music video) posing for several different shots, whilst i took the photo.
Here are some examples of the final photos of the shoot....

As you can see in the pictures above, we used different types of lighting, some where the fill light was not on, some images where all three lights were on and some where the key light was switched off.
We did this because we wanted to create different kind of moods.

My ideas for possible front covers of the digipak...

Around the edge of this image i have made notes to myself on how and what it is i have drew...
Starting from the bottom left hand image of flower, will be small and colourful and will be placed there to break up the artist forename and surname.
The forename of the artist to be big, bold capital letters, in a red/pink colour to show love.
Background colour to be dark and sparkly.
Three translated mirrowed images of artist, all images will be medium to close-up.
An image of a star to show a star in the making, be also coloured in a bright yellow.
Name of the single featured in the album 'Everything lies' in a red/pink font.
Big,bold capital letters of the surname of the artist in a red/pink font to show love.
I wanted to do all these images and colours to make this digipak stand out from the others.

Around the edge of this image i have made notes to myself on how and what it is i have drew...
Starting from the bottom left hand image, a mirrowed image of the artist which will be in a medium close-up shot.
A baby pink background which will be girly and pink to attract our target audience and to show love.
Big,bold capital letters of the artist name in the centre of the digipak, will be in a red/pink font.
Underlined name so it looks like the top bit of a scroll, and in a black font to stand out.
I wanted to do these particular images and colours to make it different from the rest of the digipaks and to attract our target audience.

Around the edge of this image i have made notes to myself on how and what it is i have drew...
Staring from the bottom left hand image, a 'Medium-shot' of artist on a side angle.
A small red love heart to symbolise that the album/song is loving.
Artist name to be in bold, pink/red writing, in the centre of the digipak.
Bright, colourful flower, with falling petals next to it.
The song name (Everything lies) in a large, pink/red font.
I have decided to use these images and colours to make the digipak look simple and to attract our target audience.

My ideas for possible inlay covers for digipak...

These are my ideas for possible inlay/middle covers for our digipak...

Around the edge of this image i have made notes to myself on how and what it is i have drew...
A typical natural background, maybe a garden, to show its a calm album.
The main feature is of the flower which will be big and colourful, to show its a happy/ pleasant album and song.
A close-up of the artist hand picking the flower up, just to show that connection that the album and song can relate to real-life issues.

Around the edge of this image i have made notes to myself on how and what it is i have drew...
Starting from the bottom left hand corner (photo image)... a happy photo of artist and male scattered around the bed.
A teddybear that the male had brought the female lying around the bed.
A stereo that plays Cds sitting near the bed.
A single, red rose around the bed that the male had given the female.
The main feature is a bed, so sheets to be plain so the main focus is on the artist.
A 'Long-shot' photo of artist and male near the bed.
A mobile phone by the bed.
A box of chocolates scattered around the bed and are half-eaten.
A love letter next to the bed.
A heart neckalce on the floor near the bed.
A 'Medium-shot' of artist lying on the bed, head down and looking sad.
I have decided to use these particular objects and images because i want to show the memories the male and female had together and i also want to show that the album is songs full of memories.

My ideas for possible background and digipak covers...

Each of these pictures are my ideas for our Cd cover for the front and middle of our digipak...
The first picture that can be seen is of possible background and digipak covers that i have dowloaded from the internet.
The remaining pictures are what i have drew myself and how i have analysed them.
You can see how i have analysed them around the edge of the pictures.

For the top left hand side poster image:
Its bright, broken heart (and the song 'Everything lies' is about a broken heart and loosing love.
Could have a scroll with information on it.
Artist picture featured in black box in the top left hand corner.

For the top right hand poster image:
Artist picture in left hand of broken heart.
In right hand, information in it with a sky lue background to show innocense.
Artist name at top of heart.

For the bottom left hand digipak image:
Looks as if the heart is shattered which shows that its a sad song and album.
Pictures of the artist in close-ups in red part of heart.
In white part, images of artist and male.
Black part has various images of teddys, letters ect.

For the bottom right hand digipak image:
Background for Cd, a heart with a keyhole in it.
Shows you have to unlock it so could show that the album is full of secrets and you have to unlock it (play the cd) to here them.

Target audience for our music video

We have chosen the target audience of 16-24 year olds.
This is because we have focused on pop music genre and a lot of young people listens to this.
Many people buy/download music via itunes and also they often listen to it on facebook and youtube.
The main group that goes on these netwroking sites are between 16-24year old, which is our target ausience for our music video.
We have also chosen this age range because the performers featured in our music video are teenagers so it will appeal more to them and the genre of the music (pop) will appeal more to the 16-24 year old.
Also the main storyline that we had thought was behind the song we are using (Amanda Kaletsky-everything lies) is how a male is playing two females and one female finds out and is hurt/upset about it and sings about how 'everything lies' in their relationship.
We thought this could affect our target audience because young people are only just experiencing love, so we thought this could relate to them more than your middle-aged adult.
Music videos can vary from video to video.
Some videos can appeal to adults and some can appeal to a younger audience.
Due to either the artist, the genre of the song and the humour of it.
As part of our media course we have to create a music video.
We want to do our target audience as 16-24years so we can show some shots that may be disturbing to a younger audience.
In researching target audience it has made me more aware of thinking about the needs of the viewers rather than myself.

Planning for the digipak

For our digi-pak we have decided to share it so both our ideas are seen.
Heres the ideas me and Charlie have thought of together...
For the front cover we thought extreme close up/close up of female one with the name of the artist and song in the centre on the pak.
For the middle left cover we thought about having female one holding the last petal of a rose or maybe her lieing down in a bed of flowers to show innocence and youth.
For the inlay we thought a collage of photos of female one, in different moods such as happy and sad, to show that the album features different types of songs.
For the middle right cover we thought of another collage or female one picking a rose up from a garden or standing against a wall with a rose in her hand.
And for the back cover, we thought of making it look like a 'love-note' so a scroll with writing on and various images.

My ideas for this will be posted shortly on here.

Peoples views on the actual song for our music video...

For our song i wanted to get different peoples views on it...
I wanted to show what each sex says and how different there views are.
I also wanted to show the difference between the ages to show the different opinions.

Teenage Females...
"ultimate revenge song love it!"
"Lyrics are good and catchy"
"Like the beat and instruments used"

Teenage Male...

"Artist has a good voice"
"It sounds to manufactured and generic,i weren't to keen but good for doing a narrative and music video too"
"Sexiest song to males but its catchy"

Middle-aged Woman ...
"Softness of music, lyrics and voice are lovely"
"Can visualise somebody, easy to relate to the song"
"A good beat in the background"

Middle-aged Male ...
"Good beat and voice, lyrics are good"
"Not enough musical instruments"
"Sings at one tone, tend to switch of"
"Same beat throughout the song no backing vocals"

Risk Assessment for our music video...

During the music video filming, there are possible hazards that we could come across.
Here are possible risks that we could come across:
1)Getting the equipment wet that we use.
2)Be careful when putting the tripod down onto a wet area.
3)Leave the cases away from the filming area, incase you fall over them.
4)When using the camera, be aware of what is around you,so you don't hit into anything.
5)We will be filming in public, so we will not use any sharp objects.
6)We must also take into account our behaviour, so it is suitable for the public.
7)Becareful filming on a wet area/ outside, because there may be the risk of sliipng or falling.
8)Make sure the area is safe that we are filming in.
9)Using electrical equipment, be aware of a fault that might occur leading to electricution.
10) When filming shots in the theatre we need to make sure the lights aren't to bright and do not over-heat
11) During the filming, we have many shots were fire is included, we need to make sure we don't burn ourselves
12) We must make sure we are in a safe environment when using fire/burning
13) When the male is using gym equipment we need to make sure he uses it properly to prevent injury
14) In the final shots, a micro-phone is thrown onto the floor, so we need to make sure we do not damage it
15) When using media equipment such as the 'Dolly' we need to make sure we do not trip over it
16) All media equipment to be used properly and set up rightly to prevent any getting damaged.
